To be honest, I was really looking forward to this tête-à-tête with Yuri.

I first started watching his videos a couple of years ago, back when I was first getting myself familiarized with the whole movement approach to training. When I found out that he reached such a high level of expertise with no prior formal training in any of the disciplines he practices the impossibility of all those skills was no longer there.

All the excuses as to why some can achieve heights and why others can’t lead me to the conclusion that it’s not because most people can’t. It’s because most people won’t.

Our natural aversion towards risk involved in exploring uncharted territory goes hand in hand with pursuing what we genuinely love. To love is to take a leap of faith. Many of us can remember the intense high points of our lives when we have faced the unknown and overcome great difficulties as being the experiences that have revealed us to ourselves.

Some few have taken the plunge and made adventure a way of life and for me Yuri is one of these people.

Although this is naught but a glimpse into the story of this self-taught acrobat, tis’ a glimpse into the world of the mellifluous souls of this world.
